Biometric Screening: Screen Employees in Minutes

Employee Biometric Screening Mobile Health | Biometric Screening: Screen Employees in Minutes | Biometric Screening For Employees

Ensuring the health and well-being of employees is a priority for any responsible employer. One of the most efficient and effective ways to do this is through biometric screenings, which can provide a quick and comprehensive snapshot of an employee’s health in just a few minutes. With employee biometrics screening, employers can reduce healthcare costs and promote a more health-conscious work environment.

At Mobile Health, we offer a variety of on-site health and wellness services designed to keep your workforce healthy and productive, including biometric screenings, flu shots, and our newest addition, skin cancer screenings.

What Are Biometric Screenings?

Employee biometric screenings are essential for early detection of potential health issues. They typically measure vital health indicators such as blood pressure, cholesterol levels, glucose levels, and body mass index (BMI).

These screenings can help identify risk factors for chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension. Early detection through biometric screenings allows employees to take proactive steps towards improving their health, thereby reducing the risk of serious health problems in the future.

Quick and Convenient Health Checkups

One of the main advantages of biometric screenings is their convenience. Our screenings are designed to be quick, taking only a few minutes per employee, which means minimal disruption to the workday.

Our trained clinical staff conducts the screenings on-site, so employees don’t need to leave the workplace. This convenience encourages higher participation rates, leading to more comprehensive health data for your workforce. This aggregate data allows employers to understand overall health trends within their workforce, helping them decide which benefits to offer and how to create targeted wellness programs. Additionally, healthier employees can lead to lower insurance costs due to reduced risk of major health.

Skin Cancer Screenings

We are excited to introduce skin cancer screenings as part of our wellness programs. Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers, with one in 5 Americans estimated to be diagnosed in their lifetime, and early detection is crucial. Detecting skin cancer early significantly increases the chances of successful treatment and can prevent the cancer from spreading to other parts of the body. Early intervention can lead to better outcomes, less invasive treatments, and a higher likelihood of complete recovery.

Our skin cancer screenings can only be done on-site and involve checking for irregular moles and other signs of skin abnormalities on visible parts of the body without requiring employees to remove clothing. This non-invasive screening is performed by our clinical staff, using a form based on one from the American Academy of Dermatology.

During the screening, our clinicians look for the ABCDEs of melanoma: Asymmetry, Border irregularity, Color variation, Diameter, and Evolving shape and size.

Workers in certain industries are more susceptible to skin cancer due to the nature of their jobs. This includes drivers, firefighters, construction workers, energy/oil/gas workers, and some manufacturing employees. For example, firefighters are exposed to carcinogens like polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and metals in smoke, increasing their risk of melanoma and other cancers. Similarly, drivers often experience prolonged sun exposure through vehicle windows, raising their skin cancer risk.

How Skin Cancer Screenings Fit Into Wellness Programs

Adding skin cancer screenings to your employee wellness program provides a more comprehensive approach to employee health. These screenings can be seamlessly paired with our biometric screenings and on-site flu shots, creating a comprehensive health checkup event. This integrated approach not only saves time but also enhances the overall health and well-being of your employees by addressing multiple health concerns in one visit.

Benefits of Biometric and Health Screenings

Our employee health screenings address several common challenges faced by employers and employees alike:

Early Detection and Prevention

By identifying health issues early, biometric and skin cancer screenings enable employees to seek treatment sooner, potentially preventing more serious health problems down the line.

Reducing Healthcare Costs

Preventive care can significantly reduce long-term healthcare costs by avoiding expensive treatments for advanced diseases. Employers can benefit from lower insurance premiums and reduced absenteeism.

Promoting a Health-Conscious Work Environment

Regular health screenings foster a culture of wellness within the workplace. Employees who feel cared for are more likely to be engaged and productive.

Convenience and Accessibility

On-site screenings eliminate the need for employees to take time off work to visit a doctor, making it easier for them to participate in preventive health measures.
