2024 Occupational Health Wrapped

Occupational Health Wrapped | Mobile Health

As 2024 comes to a close, it’s time to hit replay on the biggest hits (and misses) in occupational health this year. Think of it as your Spotify Wrapped – but for workplace safety. Let’s dive into the trends, stats, and moments that kept your workforce healthy and your HR teams on their toes.

Too Hot to Handle

Is it hot out here, or is it just us? Turns out, it’s Mother Nature. Global temperatures are on the rise causing heat-related workplace injuries to soar to 33% in the Americas, the steepest increase worldwide since 2000. In response, OSHA proposed rules in 2024 requiring employers to provide water, shade, and cooling measures when temperatures hit 80°F and additional protections at 90°F. Mobile Health’s on-site employee screening services support compliance with regulations that safeguard workers in challenging environments.

The Billion-Dollar Occupational Health Blunder

Is it just us, or does ignoring workplace safety feel like playing Jenga with your company’s budget? One wrong move, and boom—there goes $225.8 billion. That’s the eye-watering price U.S. employers paid in 2024 for workplace injuries and illnesses, including lost productivity, medical expenses, and legal penalties.

By partnering with us, you can mitigate risks, reduce costs associated with workplace injuries, and promote a healthier, more productive workforce.

Masking Up for the Win

Respiratory Protection took home a trophy as one of OSHA’s Top 4 Most Violated Standards in 2024. Turns out, airborne hazards don’t take a break, and neither should compliance.

OSHA’s focus on respiratory safety pushed businesses to step up, and Mobile Health was there to help. With comprehensive respirator fit testing—both qualitative and quantitative—we made sure employees across industries stayed protected. Whether it’s a dusty warehouse or a chemical-heavy job site, we’re helping workplaces breathe a little easier (and stay on OSHA’s good side).

And the Award for Workplace Injuries Goes To…

Drumroll, please! In 2024, the industries racking up the most occupational injuries were:

  1. Performing Arts Companies – Because breaking a leg isn’t just an expression anymore.
  2. Spectator Sports – Apparently, it’s not just the players taking hits; the sidelines are a danger zone too.
  3. Veterinary Services – Turns out, purrs and scratches come as a package deal.

These industries had their work cut out for them. Luckily, Mobile Health’s customized occupational health services were ready to take center stage and tackle the risks to help keep workforces safe. Let us help keep your team safe.

Occupational Health’s Billion-Dollar Glow-Up

In 2024, the U.S. occupational health market grew from $1.04 billion and is projected to hit $1.56 billion by 2029. The message is clear: prioritizing workplace safety pays off. To mark 40 years in the business, Mobile Health launched our Compliance Hub and revamped Client & Patient Portals to make occupational health management seamless and accessible.
